Suspected Drunk Driver Kills Passenger In Crash

 

KENTWOOD (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A car hits a street sweeper early Friday morning and the passenger dies.

 

The accident happened just after 1:30a.m. Friday on 44th Street SE near Eastern Avenue SE. Police closed down 44th Street SE for a while to investigate.

 

Kimberley Ann Rumble, 28, of Grand Rapids, died Friday afternoon at the hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday. Police say she was not wearing her seatbelt.

 

Police say the driver,a 23-year old female, was speeding in her Chevy Malibu when she hit the street sweeper that was traveling westbound in the left lane of 44th Street.

 

Police believe she was drinking and now an arrest warrant is now being sought from the Kent County Prosecutor.

 

The driver of the sweet sweeper, a 35-year old Allendale male, was not hurt in the accident.
