Taylor officer struck, killed by vehicle
TAYLOR, Mich. (AP) - Taylor police are investigating the hit-and-run death of an auxiliary police officer who was assisting a motorist when he was struck by another vehicle.
Investigators say the suspect's vehicle was last seen exiting Interstate 94 at Telegraph in the Detroit suburb about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The Detroit Free Press, WJBK-TV and WWJ-AM say police are looking for a white, 1990s model Ford Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis with heavy front end damage.
No further details were released.
Auxiliary officers are volunteers whose duties include traffic control and stranded motorists.
