McCain to campaign Friday at GM center in Warren

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain plans to hold an invitation-only town hall meeting Friday at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren.

The visit comes a week after the Arizona senator held a town hall meeting at an auto supplier in the Detroit suburb of Van Buren Township.

McCain will come to Michigan on Thursday to attend a fundraiser at the Ferrysburg home of former ambassador Peter Secchia. The McCain campaign got help Monday evening from Mitt Romney, a Michigan native who beat McCain in the state's GOP presidential primary before bowing out of the race.

Romney was on hand in Farmington Hills to officially open the McCain Great Lakes Regional headquarters overseeing Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana.
