Boil Water Alert For St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Several Berrien County communities are under a boil water advisory.

The St. Joseph City Water Treatment Plant reported a water pressure problem Tuesday afternoon.

A precautionary boil water order is in effect for customers in the following service areas of the St. Joseph Water Treatment Plant: Townships of Lincoln, St. Joseph and Royalton Villages of Shoreham and Stevensville

A boil water order requires that water used for drinking and cooking be brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of two minutes and then allowed to cool to room temperature before use. Currently, the utility is trying to isolate the problem. Effected customers are urged to continue boiling water until further notice.
