Free Thanksgiving meals

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Many area restaurants and organizations will be offering free meals on Thanksgiving.

 

The following is a partial list of such establishments.

 

Grand Rapids: Mel Trotter Ministries 10am @ DeVos Place, 303 Monroe Avenue

 

Paw Paw: 24th annual community free Thanksgiving meal, Paw Paw Knights of Columbus Hall, 32373 Red Arrow Highway, Paw Paw; noon to 3 p.m.; call (269) 657-5494 for more information; meals delivered in the Paw Paw area, but organizers encourage people to come to the hall for a meal; call for a ride if needed.

 

South Haven: First United Methodist Church, 429 Michigan Ave., South Haven; 1 to 2 p.m.; for more information, call (269) 637-2502.

 

Kalamazoo: Theo & Stacy's Restaurant, 234 W. Michigan Ave., downtown Kalamazoo; Serving Holiday meals since 1977; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; call 388-5025 for information.

 

Kalamazoo: Holiday Meal – Thursday @ 4pm till 6pm Gospel Mission, 448 N Burdick St

 

Kalamazoo: North Park Reformed Church, 1316 N. Barney Road, corner of Barney Road and Douglas Avenue, in Kalamazoo; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; dinners also will be delivered upon request; call (269) 492-7764 and leave a message clearly stating your name, address and phone number if you want a delivery to your door; your call will be returned.

 

Marcellus: Eighth annual Marcellus United Methodist Church, 197 Main St., Marcellus; 1 to 3 p.m.; takeout meals and delivery in the Marcellus area are available by calling 646-5801; open to everyone in the community, whether they are in need, alone or simply unable to prepare a meal.

 

Plainwell: Kristin's Kafe of Plainwell is serving a free Thanksgiving meal from noon to 3 p.m. at the Plainwell Community Center, 79 E. Bridge St., Plainwell; dinners also will be delivered upon request within a five-mile radius; call 685-8911 or 685-2201 (except on Thanksgiving) if you cannot get to the center.

 

Schoolcraft: Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, 342 N. Grand St. (U.S. 131), Schoolcraft; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; reservations not required; anyone needing transportation to the church on Thanksgiving Day may call the church at 679-4845 by Wednesday.
