McBain man says he didn't push wife off cliff
Comments 0 | Recommend 0MUNISING, Mich. (AP) - A man convicted of pushing his wife to her death from a 140-foot cliff at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore insists he's innocent.
Thomas David Richardson of McBain was convicted in April of first-degree murder in the death of 43-year-old Juanita Richardson. He was sentenced this week to life in prison with no possibility of parole.
Richardson gave his side of the story in a jailhouse interview for the television program "Dateline NBC" to be broadcast in July.
WLUC-TV of Negaunee, which reported on the interview, says Richardson professed love for his wife and said he took care of her.
He said he gave conflicting accounts of what happened because of the trauma of seeing Juanita Richardson fall and being interrogated by police.
