Sterling Heights woman wins Miss Michigan USA
PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) - Lindsey Tycholiz of Sterling Heights has won the Miss Michigan USA Pageant and will now compete in next spring's Miss USA Pageant.
The Times Herald of Port Huron says the 26-year-old recently graduated from Oakland University with a degree in music education.
Nearly 60 contestants took part in the event held Friday and Saturday at McMorran Place Theater in Port Huron.
The competition is divided into three segments: evening gown, fitness/swimsuit and interview.
Along with representing Michigan in the Miss USA Pageant, Tycholiz will receive a $34,000 four-year full tuition scholarship to Baker College as well as jewelry and wardrobe.
