MONITOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The body of a woman missing since last week has been found in Bay County.

The Flint Journal reports it appears Emily Jane Plouffe-Simunic died in a car crash.

WJRT-TV and WNEM-TV say the 29-year-old and her vehicle were found Tuesday off Interstate 75 at the U.S. 10 interchange in Monitor Township.

Investigators say her car went into a densely wooded area, not visible from the roadway.

Plouffe-Simunic had not been seen since Thursday when she left the Clarkston area and headed to West Branch to meet up with some friends.
