Police Search For Armed Robbers In Wyoming

WYOMING (Newschannel 3) - Numerous local police agencies are on the hunt for two men who robbed a party store and engaged in gunfire with Wyoming Police.

 

The armed robbery happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Kay and Kay party store at 1273 Chicago Dr. in Wyoming. Two Latino men wearing blue bandanas fled the scene and then ditched their car at the Arbor Lake Apartments, which is located on Byron Center just south of 28th Street.

 

There, police met up with the men, and two shots were fired, but it is unknown if they were fired directly at the officer, who then fired back. No one was injured in the exchange.

 

Police set up a perimeter in the area of 28th and Byron Center Ave. Grand Rapids Police, the Kent Co. Sheriff Department and Michigan State Police are searched the area for the suspects, but they were not located.
