I certainly hope mothers enjoyed yesterday's sunshine and nice weather conditions that were provided by an area of high pressure that moved over Michigan on Saturday. Today will be a different story as it will be a soggy Mother's Day due to a strong area of low pressure that moved out of the plains and tracks across the Great Lakes bringing rain and windy conditions. Put the umbrella up for Mom and help her hold onto her hat as the winds will be gusting to 25mph possibly 30mph today. Some areas could receive up to an inch of rain. High temperatures will only be in the middle 50s but the gusty winds will make it feel like it's in the 40s. The weather has not been kind to mothers the last few years. Four of the last seven years have been wet. With rain today that will make five of eight Mother's Days with rain.

As the low moves away look for mostly cloudy skies on Monday with high temperatures around 60. For Tuesday an area high pressure over the region will give us mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures with highs around 70. Don't get use to that 70 degree reading however as another disturbance brings the possibility of rain by mid week with cooler temperatures in the lower to possibly mid 60s for the remainder of the week.
