GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - LaughFest continues Friday in Grand Rapids  after setting a new world record Thursday night.

More than 1,500 people showed up wearing fake mustaches.

The previous record was set by the St. Louis Rams last fall with more than 600 people slapping on fake mustaches.

LaughFest runs through March 17th, featuring everything from big name comedians to family friendly shows.

The proceeds benefit Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.

The event is also helping out another good cause. During the festival Goodwill Industries will be giving away 2,500 laundry bags to people attending some of the community showcase shows.

They ask that people then fill those bags with gently used donations and then return them to any local Goodwill.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The final installment of the "The Hunger Games" movie franchise is going out with a bang -- not with a whimper. LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It's the kind of thing that makes people wonder how serious Hollywood is about diversity. The director of the upcoming movie "Gods of Egypt" is apologizing for putting mostly white actors in his film. The first trailer for the movie came out a couple of weeks ago -- and it features a cast led by Scottish actor Gerard Butler and Danish actor Nokolaj Coster-Waldau. What makes all of this more curious is that the director, Alex Proyas -- was born in Egypt. He acknowledges his casting choices should have been more diverse. The film's distributor, Lionsgate, also says it failed to live up to the ideals of diversity. The apologies were noted by Ava DuVernay, who directed "Selma." She tweeted "this kind of apology never happens -- for something that happens all the time."

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Now that "Creed" has made a strong box office debut, Michael B. Jordan may be on his way to one of his life goals: to become popular enough so that when people hear the name "Michael Jordan," they have to ask whether they mean the basketball legend -- or the actor. One hit movie won't accomplish that, but Jordan the actor says it's something he's had in mind ever since he was young. He says after being teased about being Michael Jordan the ballplayer, he decided he wanted to make a name for himself. He says he didn't realize that the way he'd end up doing that -- was to become an actor.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- An in-flight incident for Lindsay Lohan's stepmother. Authorities say Kate Major-Lohan was yanked off a JetBlue flight the day before Thanksgiving. An FBI spokesman says she was busted on a charge of interfering with flew crew members and attendants. The flight was headed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Los Angeles. A JetBlue spokeswoman says the flight was diverted to New Orleans to have an "unruly customer" removed. It's unclear what Major-Lohan did to get herself booted from the flight. She is married to Lindsay Lohan's dad.
