(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - If you borrowed from CitiGroup, you may soon be entitled to some money.

The bank is reportedly close to a deal with the U.S. Justice Department.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting the bank could pay nearly $7 billion to settle allegations it sold bad mortgages in the run-up to the financial crisis.

The agreement would prevent a federal lawsuit.

Reports say it would also include a payout of millions to borrowers.
