SAN DIEGO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Witnesses to an attempted carjacking jumped in to save a woman and her child, and the violent struggle was caught on camera.

You can hear the girl crying as a group of men fight to keep 21-year-old Ismael Hernandez from taking off with the child and her mother in a red van.

It happened Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

One man grabs Hernandez's face from behind, while another pulls him out of the car.

They keep him there any way they can until police arrive.

The mother and daughter were shaken up but not hurt.
