(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The U.S. Coast Guard says the fire which crippled a Carnival cruise ship started because of a leak in a fuel oil return line.
The line was connected to one of the ship's generators.
Leaking oil started the fire when it hit the hot surface.
More than 4,000 passengers and crew members were stranded off the coast of Mexico for five days last week.
The Coast Guard says the investigation will last several months.
