NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Forget iPads and iPods, the hottest commodity on the Columbia University campus us Nutella.

The school cafeteria just began serving the chocolate-hazelnut spread daily, and it can't keep the stuff in stock.

Not only are students using it on everything in the dining hall, they're also scooping up huge amounts into containers to take back to their rooms.

According to the student newspaper, students are going through 100 pounds of Nutella per day, setting the university back $5,000 per week.
