Conn. couple become longest married couple in U.S.

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A husband and wife in Connecticut have something to brag about.

After 80 years of marriage, they're the country's longest married couple.

John and Ann Betar lived across the street from one another as kids.

They tied the knot on November 25th, 1932, and they've been by each other's side ever since.

They had five kids, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
