Construction worker rescued from sewer predicament

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A construction worker is in serious but stable condition at a hospital after being stuck chest-deep in mud for hours in a New York subway tunnel.

More than 150 firefighters raced to the tunnel to help free him.

It took about 4 hours to pull the man to safety.

Three firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries during the rescue.
