Family of slain model struggles with her death

Updated: Saturday, February 16 2013, 01:08 PM EST
JOHANNESBURG (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The family of a murdered South African model says they are struggling to come to terms with her death.

Reeva Steenkamp was found dead at her boyfriend's home, Olympic athlete and double amputee Oscar Pistorius on Valentine's Day.

Pistorius is charged with shooting and killing the 30 year old during an argument.

In court on Friday, prosecutors said the crime was premeditated.

Steenkamp's family, however, says they are reserving judgement until more details are revealed.

"The answer will come out, and I must say something: If you really believe in the law, that will come out, and we don't have to make any judgement," Reeva's uncle Mike Steenkamp said. "The judgement will be done then."

Pistorius faces life in prison if found guilty.

He has not entered a plea, but his family issued a statement, saying the charge was disputed in the "strongest possible terms."

Pistorius is set to appear back in court on Tuesday.
