Gun control bills to be introduced in U.S. House

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Democrats in the U.S. House are expected to introduce a series of bills aimed at curbing gun violence.

The legislation is expected to mirror President Obama's plan, including a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.

But, if the bills have any chance of making it out of the House they will need republican support.

Many members of the GOP say they oppose any new gun control legislation.
