(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A mostly deserted joint factory complex just inside North Korea is the latest example of deteriorating relations with the south.
Pyongyang suspended operations and recalled all 53,000 workers from the manufacturing zone.
The pull-out is part of the threats Pyongyang has unleashed at Seoul and Washington in recent weeks, including nuclear threats.
Japan is reacting to the unrest in North Korea. The country has moved Patriot missile launchers into central locations in Tokyo.
The move was made after reports surfaced last week that North Korea had moved mid-range missiles to its east coast, putting Japan in range of a potential strike.
