Judge to decide on new trial for Drew Peterson

JOLIET, Ill. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A judge is expected to rule Thursday if Drew Peterson will get a new trial.

That decision in the former suburban Chicago police officer's murder case comes after two days of testimony on the request.

Jurors convicted Peterson in September of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio in 2004.

He's also a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

His current legal team says he deserves a new trial because his attorney botched the case.
