Man allegedly beaten by police on St. Patrick's Day weekend

Updated: Wednesday, March 20 2013, 11:42 PM EDT
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A drunken run-in with police over St. Patrick's Day weekend left a man with a broken nose, a concussion, and broken ribs and teeth.

Cellphone video showed Eddie Lojak being slammed into the ground face first on Saturday by Pittsburgh Police, following a morning of drinking with his friends.

Lojak says he was approaching a friend who'd been kicked out of a bar and was being arrested for trespassing when police jumped on him.

The officers say their reaction was justified, because Lojak came at them in an aggressive manner.

Lojak admits to being drunk, and faces a number of charges.

The Pittsburgh Police Department has launched an internal investigation.
