Man fakes own kidnapping, faces charges story image
BROOKLYN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In order to explain why he didn't call for two weeks, police say a Brooklyn man faked his own kidnapping.

Police found Rahmell Pettway bound with duct tape earlier this week, apparently beaten and dumped near some parked cars.

They thought it was suspicious, however, when they noticed the duct tape roll still dangling from his wrists.

Pettway eventually confessed that he made the whole thing up.

He's charged with filing a false police report.
