Missing dog reuinted with owner

Updated: Wednesday, March 13 2013, 08:25 PM EDT
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A missing dog from Georgia will be reunited this week with his owner, more than 3 months after disappearing in Indiana.

Max and his owner Dave Vitali got into a bad crash on US-131 in Marshall County in November.

They were on their way to visit Vitali's daughter in Grand Rapids for the holidays.

They searched everywhere for Max and posted pictures, but had no luck, until Sunday.

That's when Ann Miller recognized a photo of her newly adopted golden retriever on her Facebook page.

Immediately someone recognized that dog as Max, and tipped her off.

"[Vitali] asked me to send pictures, and I did, and then almost right away, he called me and said, 'That's Max,'" Miller said.

Somehow, Max ended up 50 miles south of the crash site.

Vitali plans to pick him up later this week.
