NASA explains Friday's events

RUSSIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Two of the biggest stories of the day occurred up in space.

A meteor shattered over Russia, and it happened just as scientists were waiting for an even bigger asteroid to fly by, a little close for comfort.

Edward Lawrence went to NASA for some answers.
