The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  2" to 6" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph bringing lake effect snow bands near and across US 131, at times.  Some locations will see more than 6", especially closer to Lake Michigan.  Roads are slippery and become more tricky once the sun sets.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - President Obama is stepping up his outreach to Republican lawmakers.

Thursday, he invited Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan to the White House.

Ryan runs the House Budget Committee and the President is looking for new ways to break the stalemate over the nation's budget and debt.
