Olympic runner heads to court

SOUTH AFRICA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Olympic runner and double amputee Oscar Pistorius appeared in a South African courtroom Friday morning to face murder charges.

He's accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, at his home Thursday morning.

Pistorius left the police station to head to court Friday morning with a jacket covering his head.

Reports say Pistorius broke down in tears once he got into court.

Prosecutors say they will pursue a premeditated murder charge.

A bail hearing for Pistorius was postponed until next week. He'll be held at a police station until then.
