Police: Killer of journalist Daniel Pearl caught

PAKISTAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in Pakistan say they've caught the man responsible for the death of American journalist Daniel Pearl.

Back in 2002, the Wall Street Journal correspondent was abducted and beheaded.

Now, Pakistani Police say they have arrested a notorious terrorist who carried out the kidnapping and several other crimes, including prison breaks and attempts to attack a hotel where American soldiers were staying.

Pearl's parents released a statement saying "we're gratified with this latest arrest, and hope that justice will be served in a timely manner."
