Pres. Obama to visit Israel

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - For the first time ever in office, President Obama is flying to Israel, and there's much to be said about the timing of his visit.

The President leaves Tuesday night for a four-day trip to Israel and Jordan, and will land in Israel two days after the country's new coalition government was installed.

It's believed that the President's trip is more symbolic than anything, designed to mend the U.S./Israel relationship, and avoid any discussion about new peace initiatives.
