President to meet with Palestinian leaders

MIDDLE EAST (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - President Obama is set to meet with Palestinian leaders Thursday as he continues his trip to the Middle East.

Many Palestinians are protesting the visit claiming President Obama has done little to support their effort to become an independent state.

Right now the president is wrapping up his visit to Israel and some Palestinians believe preserving that relationship between the U.S. and Israel is the main purpose of this Middle East trip.

Wednesday President Obama spoke about the bond between those two nations.

“America's support for Israel's security if unprecedented and the alliance between our nations have never been stronger," said President Obama.

Following his meeting with Palestinian leaders the president will visit Jordan on Friday.
