SPARTANBURG, S.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in South Carolina are trying to crack the case of a cookie caper Thursday night.

The cookie crook swiped nearly $19,000 worth of Girl Scout cookies in Spartanburg.

More than 5,000 boxes of Thin Mints and Trefoils disappeared from a storage company, where they were being kept for Girl Scout troops in nearly 2 dozen counties across the state.

The owner of the storage company has vowed to help the scout troops affected by the loss.
