WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Senate is expected to vote Thursday on two amendments to a gun control bill--one of which would bolster federal mental health programs.
This comes one day after Senators rejected broader federal background checks and bans on assault weapons.
The President and other gun control supporters have been vocal since the bill failed.
They say the Senate's rejection of expanded background checks won't stop their drive to reduce gun violence.
