Sentencing in Amish beard-cutting attacks

CLEVELAND, Ohio (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Amish men and women convicted in the beard and hair-cutting attacks on other Amish will be back in court Friday.

67-year-old Samuel Mullet Sr. and 15 members of his extended family are set to be sentenced in Cleveland.

Prosecutors have asked for life, saying the attacks were in retaliation for going against Mullet's authoritarian style.

The defense says it is an internal faith matter and not a hate crime. They're asking for just two-years.
