Two firefighters killed in Texas blaze

BRYAN, Texas (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Overcome by smoke, two firefighters have died after battling an intense fire at a Texas lodge hall.

The victims include a 13-year veteran, who was among the first rescuers on the scene.

He radioed that he was running low on oxygen, then went silent.

The second firefighter to die was among those who went in searching for the first.

Two others were also injured.

It has been 35 years since the last firefighter died in the line of duty in the town of Bryan.

The Fire Marshal is now investigating.
