UN Security Council passes sanctions on N. Korea

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The United Nations Security Council passed tough new sanctions against North Korea in an effort to stop its nuclear arms program.

The vote came on the same day that North Korea threatened to launch a preemptive nuclear strike against the United States.
