LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An overhaul of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is on its way to the Governor's desk.
The Senate gave the legislation the final stamp of approval Tuesday, transforming the insurer from a charitable trust into a customer-owned non-profit.
Supporters say it's an important step to make Michigan ready for the federal healthcare changes.
Critics, however, contend it will hurt senior citizens with medigap coverage.
