FERNDALE, Mich. (AP) - Autopsy results are inconclusive for a 16-year-old suburban Detroit high school student who died after collapsing at track practice.
Ferndale High School junior Mario Campbell died at a hospital shortly after collapsing Thursday in a hallway during an indoor practice.
MLive.com says the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office was unable to determine the cause of Campbell's death and says it's awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
School principal Lisa Williams said in a statement that Campbell "was a wonderful student, enthusiastic learner, team player and dedicated friend." Athletic director Shaun Butler says the teen had been working to become a top hurdler
