MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Manistee County Sheriff's Office is looking into an animal neglect case involving dozens of dogs.
Deputies say they received a tip about several animals not being cared for at a home in Marilla Township.
When they arrived on-scene, they found 50 dogs. Three of them were dead.
Deputies say most of the dogs were underweight and living in filthy conditions.
Animal control officers say they've taken all but 9 of the dogs from the home.
They have been placed in animal shelters around Mainstee County.
