WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

Police search for murder suspect

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Kalamazoo police are on the search for a murder suspect.

Saturday, Kalamazoo County prosecutors authorized open murder charges against 18-year-old DaQuan Pritchett for the shooting death of 19-year-old Chris Adams.

Pritchett remains at large tonight.

Meanwhile police have another suspect in custody.

County prosecutors plan to charge Tyler Bishop with assault with intent to murder and felony firearms. Nineteen-year-old Chris Adams was shot and killed Wednesday night, on Mount Olivet Road near Random Road.

Police say they got a report around 9:30 p.m. that at least two people were shooting at each other.

Adams was dropped off at the hospital a short time later.

Visitation for Adams will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Life Story Funeral Home in Portage.

His funeral service is planned for Tuesday at 11 a.m., also at Life Story Funeral Home.
