(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - If you purchased a health plan under the new federal health care law, pay attention to next year's renewal.

Experts say customers who automatically renew their coverage may find an unwelcome surprise.

Those customers will likely receive dated and inaccurate financial aid amounts from the government, which could result in amounts that are too low, raising premium prices, or too high, meaning you'll owe the tax man later.

The good news is that the problem is easy to avoid. Just make sure you update your personal information and plan choice through healthcare.gov after the November 15th open enrollment.
