(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Dow recently hit pre-recession numbers and continues to surge Friday and now it looks like Americans' wealth has bounced back as well.

A new report from the Federal Reserve shows that American households have regained the 16-trillion dollars in wealth lost to the Great Recession.

Much of that is due to surging stock prices and increasing home values.

Household wealth in the U.S. was just over 66-trillion dollars at the end of 2012.
The positive feelings about the economy are being felt again Friday on Wall Street.

Stocks marched higher after the government reported a burst of hiring last month. That sent the unemployment rate to a four-year-low.
