CENTREVILLE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Newschannel 3's I-Team is learning new details about a scandal involving the Village of Centreville.
Back in March, we uncovered accusations of a cover-up when the village did not file a police report after then-Public Works Director Randy Baker was accused of stealing hundreds of gallons of gasoline.
Angry taxpayers confronted the Village Board, and Baker was eventually fired.
Tonight we're learning that the embezzlement case is now in the hands of the prosecutor.
Sources tell Newschannel 3 that for the moment, the village is refusing to do an audit that the Sheriff's Office requested.
We are told, however, that the village is having a special meeting on Friday to discuss it.
