Battle Creek may join 'Mayors Against Illegal Guns'

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Tuesday Battle Creek City Commissioners will discuss whether to join a national coalition of cities against gun violence.
The organization is "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" and was started by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
It currently has more than 900 members.
Thirteen cities in Michigan have already joined the coalition, including Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
That meeting will take place Tuesday night at 5:30 at city hall and is open to the public.
