BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Benton Harbor Police Department is facing its second sexual assault case Tuesday night.
The complaint alleges that a 14-year veteran of the police department sexually assaulted Debra Upshaw.
Back in 2011, 42-year-old Jared Graves was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting another woman--Dominque Allen.
Allen claims in her lawsuit that she was sexually assaulted by Graves two separate times at the police station.
Just days before his preliminary examination would have taken place, Graves committed suicide at his Benton Township home.
The lawsuit also claims that the Benton Harbor Police were aware of previous sexual misconduct by Graves, and did not remove him from the force.
