CONSUMER RECALL - Pet food maker Bravo! has issued a voluntary recall for three of its raw diet frozen foods for dogs and cats.

Item # 51-508 - 5 lb. bag of Bravo! Beef Blend Burgers with the "best used by dates" of 3_21_15 or 3_22_15 printed on the back panel of the plastic bag.
On its website the company states: "Bravo! will always stand on the side of caution when it comes to the dogs and cats that eat our foods. As such, this recall is being issued solely out of an abundance of caution. Upfront we want to tell you the products involved in this recall all tested negative for pathogens by an independent third party prior to being shipped, but they were run on the same or next day of a product that tested positive for salmonella. All of the product that tested positive is under our control and is not subject to this recall."
No other products or sizes are affected.
The company says it has received no reports of illness in either people or animals associated with the product, but say it still should not be sold or fed to pets.
The recall was issued out of an abundance of caution, as while these products tested negative for salmonella pathogens by an independent third party prior to distribution, they were run on the same day or an adjacent day to a product that did test positive for pathogens.
The product that tested positive has been 100 percent contained and is not subject to this recall.
