CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Calhoun County is working to find solutions for the increasing demand for quality foster homes as more cases of child abuse and neglect flood the system.

To keep up with the demand, the State of Michigan has issued a mandate for the Calhoun County Foster Care Coalition to recruit 22 new licensed foster care homes by June of 2013.

To help meet that mandate, a foster care recruitment event has been scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd. It will be held at the Family Enrichment Center in Battle Creek from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
