DOUGLAS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A community is on high alert after hundreds of cubic meters of dirt was dug out of a known superfund site and dumped into a nearby neighborhood.
It's making some people in the Village of Douglas a little uneasy, and now there's a complaint with the Department of Environmental Quality.
The DEQ says that its primary concern is making sure the dirt doesn't move any more than it has, so they will be meeting with leaders from the Village of Douglas on Friday night to discuss the best way to handle the problem.
The DEQ also adds that any concerned citizens will have an opportunity to ask all the questions they want as well.
Newschannel 3's Jared Werksma brings us more on the story.
