KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Family and friends are mourning the loss of the 3 young children, killed in an apartment fire in Kalamazoo.

3-year-old twins, Tevin and Teniya Williams, and their little sister, 1-year-old Tyonna Henderson died Monday afternoon after a fire broke out at the Interfaith Homes complex off Interfaith Boulevard.

Investigators say the children were left home alone and could not escape.

Now, family members are trying to cope and understand the loss.

We talked to Doreen Gardner, the Associate Minister at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, who says they're doing all they can to help ease the pain.

"They need to be restored both physically and emotionally, so we're working on her emotional and her spiritual side, but their physical needs that need to be restored. They lost everything," she told us.

Funeral arrangements are still pending for the children.
