GR Mayor headed to D.C. for youth employment conference

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Mayor of Grand Rapids will be in Washington D.C. at the White House for a national conference call about youth employment.
Mayor George Heartwell and three other mayors from across the country will be side by side with the president as he makes that call.
M-Live is reporting that the mayor plans to ask what the president can do to encourage business and philanthropic support of initiatives like the mayor's 50 job-training program.
The program is a campaign to identify 50 businesses to partner with Grand Rapids to provide meaningful jobs for young people.
