Grand Rapids loses internet, email to city offices

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The City of Grand Rapids reported Thursday morning that all Internet and email service was out for the city offices, as well as experiencing some intermittent phone problems.
According to a release from the city, the city website is down as well.
All email communication come into and from city offices is also reportedly down.
The city did assure people that 911 service is still functioning, and that they expect Internet service to be restored by 1:00 p.m.
"All field personnel in public services, the police department, and the fire department have been instructed to watch for and report safety issues related to flooding," the release added.
Residents were advised to report safety issues related to any flooding Thursday to the following numbers:
- Manhole and stormwater: Sewer Maintenance - 456-3246
- Emergency (Police and Fire): 911
- Other flood related (streets) and other safety concerns - 456-3166
The city also warns residents to not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
